How do I set up PayPal as my Booking Payment Gateway?

Booking supports  PayPal Standard  and allows you to take payments through PayPal's website.  Users will have to login to their PayPal account to complete their transaction.

Integrating your PayPal Standard account with Booking is quick and easy. 

Important Note for users outside of the USA: You must set your currency in the Booking Settings before you do your payment setup and your first test payment.

Step 1: Make sure you have a PayPal Business Account (not a PayPal Pro Account).

  1. Log into your PayPal account and click Profile on the top right.
  2. Click Profile and Settings from the drop down.
  3. Click  My Selling Tools in the left menu.
  4. Find API Access on the page. Click Update.
  5. Under NVP/SOAP API integration, click View API Signature (if you do not have this set up, you will need to select "request API signature." Then continue to step six.
  6. Click Show next to API username, API password and Signature.

Step 2: Integrate with StickyFolios Booking

  1. Log in to your StickyFolios account, and click My Account
  2. Select Booking Payment Gateway from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select PayPal from the list of Payment Gateways.
  4. Select PayPal as the payment option
  5. Select PayPal for how you want you customers to pay you
  6. Select Signature under "Connect."
  7. Copy and paste API Username from PayPal into the LOGIN box.
  8. Copy and paste API Password from PayPal into the PASSWORD box.
  9. Copy and paste Signature from PayPal into the SIGNATURE box.
  10. Click Add Gateway button.

Step 3: Do a Test Transaction

Important Note for users outside of the USA: You will want to set your currency in the Booking Settings before you do your payment set up and your first test payment.

  1. Click the Test Transaction created for you.
  2. Do a Test transaction with your account and refund the transaction.
  3. If successful, you are ready to use the Booking Page with your PayPal account.
  4. If you get an error, retain the “error code”  and contact PayPal customer support.

If you are getting errors from PayPal, the most common problems are with "billing address related" errors. This is because PayPal requires your customers to enter "billing address" to complete a payment. To solve this problem, call PayPal support at 1-800-514-4923.
